License installation

  1. Download and install VisualEther 9.0+ for your platform.

  2. Save the license file (visualether-license.lic) from the email we send you.

  3. Activate it from a terminal:

    visualether license activate path/to/visualether-license.lic

  4. Confirm with visualether license show — it should show Edition: Professional (the trial carries the full paid feature set) and the trial expiry date.

Which edition do you need?

The trial unlocks the full paid feature set, so it doubles as your evaluation for both paid tiers. Once you've tried it, pick by team size and how you run captures:

  • Professional — one developer, up to two personal machines.
  • Server — a small team plus one shared CI / VM / server install (three developer seats).

Evaluating for CI/CD? The trial unlocks every feature so you can test the whole workflow on your own machine — choose the Server edition when you're ready to run VisualEther on a shared build agent.
